EMI Lock App for Phone Retailers in Tanzania
Sell simu kwa mkopo with a ledger your whole team can trust
In Kariakoo, Arusha, Mwanza and Dodoma, phone shops are selling more smartphones on installments. Customers pay through M-Pesa, Mixx by Yas, Airtel Money or HaloPesa, often in small amounts. RecTym keeps the TZS schedule, the customer and the enrolled Android phone in one record, so a payment is confirmed before any device decision is made.

Mobile money receipts
Record transaction IDs from every network against the right installment.
Kiswahili first
Agree Kiswahili customer messages and staff training before rollout.
Supported Android devices

Make every shilling traceable
A customer may pay TZS 10,000 one week by M-Pesa and TZS 15,000 the next by Airtel Money. Your record must show both payments on one account and one phone. During a demo, test a payment to a Lipa Namba without a reference and how staff correct it.

Several networks, one installment record
Tanzanian shops often accept payments on more than one network. Keep one record per customer and note each confirmed transaction ID, whichever network it came from.
RecTym records the payments your staff confirm. Naming a network explains the workflow; it does not mean RecTym is integrated with it.
Consent and data protection
Explain the installment terms and device management to the customer in Kiswahili before enrollment and keep the signed agreement. Tanzania’s Personal Data Protection Act, 2022 applies to customer data. Take legal advice on your own model.
Bring a practical test plan to your demo
Prepare a store-owned Android phone and a fictional customer. Walk through enrollment, a late payment, payments from two networks and final release.
