RecTym ("we", "our", "us") is a Mobile Device Management (MDM) and installment protection service operated by RecTym Technologies LLC. RecTym helps retailers, finance companies, and distributors manage and secure smartphones financed on installment (EMI) plans. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how it is protected when you use our dashboard, mobile app, or website.
By accessing or using RecTym's Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Data We Collect
We collect the following categories of information in order to provide the Service:
Account & Manager Data

- chevron_rightPurpose: to allow authorized staff to access the retailer dashboard and to secure the account
- chevron_rightRetention: deleted immediately if a manager is removed by the retailer; deleted 6 months after account closure, or 2 years after subscription end, whichever is applicable
Device Information
- chevron_rightDevice name, model, and identifiers assigned by the retailer
- chevron_rightPurpose: to link a financed device to a customer record and enable lock/unlock, location, and reset-protection features
- chevron_rightRetention: deleted immediately upon a verified factory reset or device removal; anonymized 6 months after account closure or 2 years after subscription end
Customer / Device-Owner Assignment Data
- chevron_rightCustomer name and any fields entered by the retailer to identify the device owner
- chevron_rightPurpose: to associate a financed device with the correct customer for installment tracking and lock enforcement
- chevron_rightRetention: same as Device Information above
Wi-Fi Network Data (if configured by retailer)
- chevron_rightNetwork name (SSID), password, and certificates
- chevron_rightPurpose: to allow enrolled devices to connect to configured networks where applicable
- chevron_rightRetention: deleted immediately when removed by the retailer; deleted 6 months after account closure or 2 years after subscription end
Location Data
- chevron_rightRecTym may collect a limited number of recent location points, only where permitted by applicable device permissions
- chevron_rightPurpose: to support installment recovery and device-recovery efforts in cases of prolonged non-payment
Policies & Configuration Data
- chevron_rightLock/unlock rules, restriction settings, and configuration profiles applied to a group of devices
- chevron_rightPurpose: to apply and enforce retailer-defined device management rules
2. How We Use Data
We use collected data to:

- chevron_rightSend automated installment payment reminders
- chevron_rightSupport factory-reset protection and anti-tamper enforcement
- chevron_rightMaintain account security and manager access controls
- chevron_rightProvide customer support to retailers
- chevron_rightImprove and maintain the reliability of the Service
RecTym does not use device or customer data for advertising or marketing purposes unrelated to the Service.
3. Data Sharing & Third Parties
RecTym's underlying device management infrastructure is powered by a third-party MDM backend provider. The exact scope of data this provider can access, retain, or use is currently under review as part of a formal Data Processing Addendum. This section must accurately reflect the final, signed terms of that agreement before publication — it should not state "no third-party access" or "zero data sharing" unless that is contractually and technically true at time of publishing.
Once finalized, this section should clearly state:

- chevron_rightWhether they can use the data for any purpose beyond providing the Service to RecTym

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

We apply physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect data processed through the Service, including restricted access limited to authorized personnel who require it to operate, maintain, or improve the Service. No system can guarantee absolute security, and we continue to invest in improving our security practices over time.

7. Retailer Responsibilities
Retailers using RecTym are responsible for:
- chevron_rightObtaining the device owner's (customer's) consent before enabling monitoring or locking features
- chevron_rightUsing RecTym only on devices they legally own or have financed
- chevron_rightEnsuring the accuracy of customer data entered into the system
- chevron_rightNot misusing the Service for harassment, fraud, or any unlawful purpose
RecTym provides the technology; retailers are responsible for ensuring their customers are clearly informed that a device may be locked for non-payment, in accordance with applicable local law.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
