EMI Lock App for Phone Retailers in Ghana
Match every mobile money payment to the right financed phone
Phone shops in Accra, Kumasi and across Ghana increasingly sell smartphones on small weekly or monthly payments. Most of those payments arrive by mobile money, often from a relative’s wallet or with a reference that does not name the customer. RecTym keeps the GHS schedule, the customer and the enrolled Android phone in one record, so staff can confirm a payment before any device decision is made.

Build an installment routine that works at a busy counter
A customer may pay GHS 50 on Friday from MTN MoMo and GHS 30 on Monday from a Telecel Cash wallet belonging to a sibling. Your ledger must show both against one account and one phone. During a demo, ask RecTym to walk through a split payment, a payment received after closing time and a corrected receipt.

Mobile money is the main payment channel
Ghana’s mobile money networks (MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash and AT Money) carry a large share of everyday payments. That convenience creates a reconciliation task: transaction IDs, sender names and amounts must be matched to an installment before an account changes status.
RecTym records the payment evidence your staff confirm. Naming a wallet provider here explains the workflow; it does not mean RecTym is integrated with that provider. Ask the team which import or recording options suit your volume.
Customer consent and data protection
Explain the installment terms and the device-management feature to the customer before enrollment, and keep a signed or recorded agreement. Ghana’s Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) applies to the personal data you collect. Confirm your obligations with your own legal adviser.
Bring a practical test plan to your demo
Prepare a store-owned Android phone and a fictional customer. Walk through enrollment, a due reminder, a late payment matched the next day, and a final payment that releases the device.
Request written confirmation of supported models, billing in GHS and support hours for your shop.
